Job summary

Placements24 in Stellenbosch seeks an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to steer design and delivery of power distribution networks, substations and related infrastructure. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, ensure safety and quality, and coordinate with civil and mechanical disciplines on complex projects.

The ideal candidate has a Master's in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems), 10+ years in the field, and Pr. Eng registration is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Systems.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive electrical engineering experience, 5+ years in lead roles.
• Experience designing power distribution networks and substations.
• Proficiency in ETAP and AutoCAD; knowledge of SA electrical codes (NRS, SANS).
• Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers and designers on infrastructure projects.
• Oversee electrical design from concept to detailed engineering for power systems and substations.
• Ensure compliance with national and international standards and regulations.
• Manage timelines, budgets, and resources for electrical deliverables.
• Review drawings, specifications, and technical reports; coordinate with civil/mechanical teams.
• Provide technical solutions to complex challenges and manage stakeholder relationships.
