Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a distinguished Senior Electrical Engineer with extensive infrastructure project experience to join the Mossel Bay team. You will lead the design, planning, and execution of electrical infrastructure for large-scale projects, including substations, distribution networks, and renewable energy integration, ensuring technical integrity and safety.

The role also involves mentoring junior engineers, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and operating within a hybrid work

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on infrastructure projects.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design and engineering for major infrastructure projects, including substations, power lines, and grid connections.
• Develop detailed technical specifications, tender documents, and construction drawings for electrical systems.
• Oversee the project lifecycle from conception through construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Perform advanced power system analysis, load forecasting, and protection studies.
• Ensure compliance with relevant electrical engineering standards and regulations.
• Provide mentorship and review of work for junior staff.
• Manage stakeholder relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
