Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Electrical Infrastructure Engineer to design and implement robust electrical infrastructure in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. The role focuses on planning, design, and commissioning of power distribution networks and substations to support regional growth.

The ideal candidate will have a strong power systems background, excellent project management skills, and a commitment to safety and sustainability, with a Pr. Eng. being advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in electrical power systems.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, substation design, and protection schemes.
• Proficiency with ETAP and AutoCAD.
• PR Eng. registration is advantageous.
• Experience with project management methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical infrastructure, including medium and low voltage distribution networks.
• Plan and oversee construction and commissioning of substations and related facilities.
• Conduct feasibility studies, load forecasting, and system planning analyses.
• Ensure designs comply with national electrical standards and safety regulations (SANS).
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources for electrical infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with internal departments, external contractors, and regulatory bodies.
• Perform technical reviews of designs, specifications, and construction plans.
• Identify opportunities for system upgrades and modernization to improve efficiency.
• Provide technical expertise and support throughout the project lifecycle.
