Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Electrical Systems Engineer to spearhead design and optimization of electrical infrastructure in Cape Town. You will lead project teams, ensure safety, and drive innovation across power distribution, substations, and industrial facilities at our on-site facility.

The ideal candidate holds a Master's in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of relevant experience, proven leadership, and familiarity with CYME, PowerFactory or DIgSILENT.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of proven electrical systems engineering experience.
• Experience leading engineering teams on complex power distribution projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and engineering of electrical systems for power distribution, substations, and industrial facilities.
• Oversee development of detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets for electrical engineering aspects.
• Conduct site assessments and technical surveys in the Western Cape area.
• Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to meet project requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical system issues during design, construction, and operations.
