Placements24 is seeking a Lead Electrical Design Engineer to spearhead electrical design for solar, wind and hybrid projects. This fully remote role enables you to lead a global team from your home office, shaping the technical direction of renewable energy installations.

You will develop detailed schematics, perform load-flow and protection studies, specify major equipment, mentor engineers, and ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE and NEC standards.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• 10+ years progressive experience in electrical design, with at least 5 years in renewable energy (solar/wind).
• Proven leadership of design teams and complex projects.
• Pr. Eng. registration is required.
• Familiarity with IEC/IEEE/NEC standards and grid interconnection requirements.
• Experience with power system analysis software (PSS/E, ETAP, PSCAD).
• Knowledge of energy storage systems (BESS) desirable.

Responsabilités

• Lead electrical design and engineering of utility-scale and distributed renewable energy projects.
• Develop and oversee detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and layouts.
• Perform load flow, short circuit, and protection studies.
• Specify and select major electrical equipment.
• Ensure compliance with national and international electrical codes and standards.
• Collaborate with PMs, civil/structural engineers, and construction teams.
• Mentor and guide a team of electrical engineers and designers.
• Conduct design reviews and provide technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
• Evaluate new technologies to enhance performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Manage external consultants and vendors.
