Placements24 is seeking a Lead Electrical Design Engineer to guide our renewable energy projects from a remote-first position. You will lead electrical design for solar, wind, and battery storage systems, ensuring seamless grid integration and compliance with standards.

The role requires strong leadership, deep power systems knowledge, and the ability to mentor engineers while coordinating with project teams across locations. Excellent communication for remote collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems.
• 8+ years progressive experience in electrical engineering, with 5+ years in renewables.
• Experience designing solar PV, wind, and battery storage systems.
• Proficiency with power system analysis tools (PSS/E, ETAP, PVSyst).
• Knowledge of grid codes and interconnection standards.
• Experience leading engineering teams.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration with ECSA desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for utility-scale and distributed renewables.
• Develop detailed electrical system designs (SLDs, schematics, equipment specs).
• Perform power flow, short-circuit, transient stability, and protection studies.
• Ensure designs comply with grid interconnection requirements and codes.
• Specify and select equipment (inverters, transformers, switchgear, batteries).
• Oversee electrical project execution and provide technical guidance.
• Mentor engineers and foster project delivery excellence.
• Collaborate with project managers, civil/structural engineers, and stakeholders remotely.
• Stay current with renewable tech and grid integration practices.
