Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer (Power Systems) for a remote-first role in South Africa. You will lead complex electrical design, perform comprehensive power system studies, and prepare engineering reports while coordinating with international teams.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in power systems, experience with PSS/E/ETAP/DIgSILENT, and a Pr Eng registration or equivalent. This role offers flexible hours, global project exposure, and remote collaboration across time zones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in power systems engineering.
• Proven experience with power system analysis software (PSS/E, ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA or equivalent international registration.
• Strong communication and remote collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and analysis of electrical power systems for various projects, incl. renewables, grid modernization, and industrial facilities.
• Perform power system studies such as load flow, short circuit, transient stability, and protection coordination.
• Develop detailed engineering designs, specifications, and technical reports.
• Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other disciplines via virtual channels.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical oversight.
