Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical schematics and designs for power systems, including distribution, protection, and control systems, utilizing industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
• Perform load calculations, single-line diagrams, and component selection for electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, generators, and UPS systems.
• Conduct thorough electrical system analysis, including short circuit studies, arc flash hazard analysis, and power quality assessments to ensure safety and compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, project managers, and procurement specialists, to ensure seamless project execution.
• Prepare technical specifications, Bill of Materials (BOM), and design documentation for review and approval.
• Provide technical support during the manufacturing, installation, and commissioning phases of projects.
• Stay abreast of the latest technological advancements and industry best practices in electrical engineering and renewable energy.
• Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure design integrity and adherence to project requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience in electrical design, with a strong focus on power systems, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
• Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar.
• Demonstrated experience with power system analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E) and familiarity with relevant standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC, SANS).
• Strong understanding of electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical issues.
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with remote teams.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
