Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Systems Engineer to join a remote-first technology division. The role is based in Polokwane or anywhere in South Africa, leading design, development, and integration of complex electrical systems for new products.

The ideal candidate will mentor engineers, set technical direction, and ensure hardware architectures meet performance and scalability needs in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical systems design and development.
• Expertise in embedded systems, power electronics, and signal integrity.
• Deep understanding of hardware design methodologies and validation processes.
• Experience with simulation tools and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and remote communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and design of sophisticated electrical systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Develop and validate complex electrical schematics, board layouts, and power management solutions.
• Oversee the selection and integration of electrical components and subsystems.
• Conduct in-depth system analysis, simulations, and performance testing.
• Mentor and guide a team of electrical engineers, fostering best practices and technical excellence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (software, mechanical, firmware) for seamless system integration.
