Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Drilling Fluids Engineer to join our operational team in Stellenbosch. The role focuses on designing fluid programs, monitoring properties, and troubleshooting issues to ensure safe, efficient drilling in Oil & Gas exploration and production.

You will collaborate with drilling engineers and rig crews, supervise on-site mud handling, and participate in ongoing training on the latest drilling fluid technologies, with opportunities for career progression in a

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Petroleum, Mechanical) or related science.
Minimum 4 years of experience as Drilling Fluids Engineer or related mud engineering role in Oil & Gas.
Solid understanding of drilling fluid chemistry, rheology, and properties.
Experience with mud logging data and analysis.
Ability to work under pressure in a field environment.

Responsibilities

Design and recommend drilling fluid systems for well conditions.
Supervise mixing and maintenance of drilling fluids on location.
Monitor drilling fluid performance, conduct routine tests, and analyze data.
Provide technical support for addressing drilling challenges related to fluid performance.
Manage inventory of drilling fluid chemicals and additives.
