Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Drilling Fluids Engineer to support operations around Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha). The role focuses on designing, managing, and optimizing drilling fluid systems to meet objectives while protecting the wellbore.

You will test fluids, analyze results, and adjust formulas for performance and safety. The position requires hands-on field work, knowledge of rheology and fluid chemistry, and the ability to work in remote locations with drilling crews.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related science field.
• Hands-on experience in drilling fluids operations.
• Knowledge of rheology, fluid chemistry, and mud additives.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage drilling fluid programs based on geological conditions and objectives.
• Oversee on-site mixing, testing, and analysis of drilling fluids.
• Troubleshoot fluid-related problems and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure environmental compliance for fluid disposal and handling.
• Monitor fluid performance and costs, identify optimization opportunities.
• Maintain records of fluid properties and treatments.
