Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial vehicles (e.g., trucks, vans) for the transportation of goods to designated destinations in and around Midrand, Gauteng .
• Plan and optimize delivery routes to ensure maximum efficiency and adherence to strict schedules.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and identify any mechanical issues.
• Perform basic maintenance on vehicles as needed and report any significant mechanical problems to the fleet manager promptly.
• Load and unload goods carefully, ensuring proper handling and security of items.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients upon delivery, including obtaining signatures and necessary documentation.
• Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, and any incidents encountered during transit.

Requirements

• Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP) and appropriate driver's license (Code 10 or higher) required.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional driving experience, preferably within a logistics or delivery environment.
• Proven ability to operate large commercial vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Excellent knowledge of road networks and traffic laws in Gauteng and surrounding areas.
• Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and basic repair procedures.

• Ability to read and interpret delivery manifests, maps, and GPS devices.
