Placements24 is seeking a Senior Delivery Driver for our client in Midrand, Gauteng. The role focuses on safe, timely goods delivery across routes, with leadership opportunities to mentor junior drivers and uphold high service standards.

The candidate will operate company vehicles, plan routes, inspect vehicles, and maintain clear delivery logs. A Code 10/Code 14 license with PrDP is required, along with 5+ years of driving experience and a professional work ethic.

Qualifications

• Must have Code 10 (C1) or Code 14 (EC) with PrDP.
• Minimum 5 years of professional driving experience.
• Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents.
• Strong knowledge of Midrand, Gauteng roads and surrounding areas.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 kg.
• Proficient with GPS devices and navigation apps.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Experience in basic fleet maintenance or vehicle inspection is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport goods to designated locations within the Midrand, Gauteng region and surrounding areas.
• Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
• Plan and optimize daily delivery routes to ensure maximum efficiency and timely arrivals.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues or damage immediately.
• Load and unload cargo securely and efficiently, ensuring the integrity of the goods.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and logs, including proof of delivery documentation.
• Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, interacting professionally with clients.
• Assist in managing and maintaining fleet logs and basic vehicle maintenance schedules.
• Potentially provide guidance and support to less experienced drivers in the team.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any delivery-related issues or customer concerns promptly and effectively.

Requirements

• Valid Code 10 (C1) or Code 14 (EC) driver's license with a PrDP (Professional Driving Permit).
• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a professional driver, preferably in a similar industry.
• Excellent driving record with no major traffic violations or accidents.
• Strong knowledge of the Midrand, Gauteng road network and surrounding areas.
• Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 25kg).
• Proficiency in using GPS devices and navigation applications.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• A professional and reliable work ethic.
• Experience in basic fleet maintenance or vehicle inspection is a plus.
