Placements24 is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst for a fully remote role. You will monitor security events, investigate incidents, and implement containment strategies while coordinating with IT teams to embed security across the infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in cybersecurity, strong SIEM experience, and knowledge of NIST/ISO 27001. Excellent communication and the ability to work independently in a remote setting are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of cybersecurity experience, focusing on threat detection and incident response.
• Strong understanding of network, endpoint, and cloud security.
• Experience with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, ELK Stack) and other monitoring solutions.
• Knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001).
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or GSEC are highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, crucial for remote collaboration.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Experience in digital forensics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and logs to detect and analyze potential cyber threats.
• Investigate security incidents, determine root causes, and implement containment and remediation strategies.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Implement and manage security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint protection.
• Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and cybersecurity trends.
• Educate employees on security best practices and awareness.
• Respond to security incidents in a timely and effective manner.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of the IT infrastructure.
• Participate in security audits and compliance initiatives.
• Prepare detailed reports on security posture and incident findings.
