Placements24 is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst to join a global security operations team in a fully remote capacity. You will detect, analyze, and respond to threats across the organization’s digital assets, shaping incident response and security posture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in cybersecurity, focusing on security operations and incident response.
• Proven experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, LogRhythm).
• Strong understanding of network security concepts (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS).
• Proficiency in malware analysis, forensics, and attacker TTPs.
• Experience with vulnerability assessment tools and pentesting methodologies.
• Knowledge of cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Scripting knowledge (Python, PowerShell) for automation is advantageous.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, GIAC, or Security+.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills; can work remotely.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and logs from SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoints to detect incidents.
• Perform in-depth analysis of security events to identify root causes and impact.
• Develop and implement incident response plans; lead containment and recovery phases.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to prioritize fixes.
• Stay updated on threats via threat intelligence and current attack trends.
• Create and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Recommend security enhancements and control measures across the tech stack.
• Collaborate with IT and development teams to embed security in the lifecycle.
• Provide guidance to junior analysts and support security awareness training.
• Support security audits and compliance activities and respond to inquiries.
