Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a vigilant Senior SOC Analyst to join a fully remote team. You will detect, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity threats across a global infrastructure using SIEM and EDR tools, investigate incidents, and help refine detection rules and playbooks.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in a SOC, a degree in cybersecurity or related field (or equivalent experience), strong knowledge of attack vectors, and certifications such as GCIH or GCIA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 4 years in a Security Operations Center (SOC).
• Strong understanding of attack vectors, threat actors, and malware analysis.
• Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, ELK) and EDR solutions.
• Experience with network traffic and log analysis.
• Certifications such as GCIH, GCIA, or Security+ are valued.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and events from various sources, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint detection tools.
• Perform in-depth analysis of security incidents, determine root causes, and recommend appropriate remediation steps.
• Develop and refine detection rules, threat hunting methodologies, and incident response playbooks.
• Collaborate with threat intelligence teams to understand and counter emerging threats.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior SOC analysts.
• Document incident details, findings, and resolutions meticulously in the ticketing system.
