Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead Credit Risk Manager in Cape Town to oversee and enhance the credit risk framework, ensuring regulatory compliance and robust risk controls. You will lead a team of risk professionals, shaping policy and strategy in a dynamic banking environment.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in credit risk, deep understanding of credit scoring, stress testing, and Basel III, plus strong leadership and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics or a related quantitative field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in credit risk management within financial services.
• Expertise in credit scoring, portfolio analysis, stress testing, and Basel III.
• Proven leadership with experience building and mentoring high-performing teams.
• Strong communication and analytical problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain credit risk policies and procedures.
• Lead analysis and assessment of credit risk across portfolios.
• Oversee credit limits, exposure monitoring, and early warning systems.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and industry best practices.
