Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Controls and Instrumentation Engineer to join a remote-first team serving projects across South Africa. You will design and implement advanced control architectures, select instrumentation, and drive automation strategies for efficiency and quality in industrial processes.

You will lead complex troubleshooting and develop thorough documentation while collaborating with vendors and cross-functional teams from a remote setting.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• 8+ years in controls and instrumentation engineering.
• Proficient with Rockwell or Siemens PLCs and HMIs.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer control systems architecture (PLC, DCS, SCADA).
• Specify and select instrumentation for process control.
• Develop automation strategies to improve efficiency and quality.
• Troubleshoot complex controls/instrumentation issues.
• Create and maintain control system documentation (P&IDs, logic, loop sheets).
