Placements24 seeks an Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join its advanced operations team. Based in Welkom with a flexible, predominantly remote work arrangement, the role focuses on the design, implementation and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems that optimize industrial processes.

You will design, configure and commission PLCs, SCADA and DCS, select instrumentation for monitoring and control, and develop control software and HMIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience with industrial instrumentation and control systems.
• Proficiency in programming and configuring PLC brands (Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
• Experience with SCADA and HMI software platforms.
• Strong understanding of process control theory and application.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and commission industrial control systems, including PLCs, SCADA, and DCS.
• Select, install, and calibrate instrumentation for process monitoring and control.
• Develop and maintain control system software, logic, and HMI interfaces.
• Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and control system malfunctions to minimize downtime.
• Develop and implement strategies for process optimization and efficiency improvements.
• Create and manage technical documentation, including P&IDs, loop diagrams, and operating manuals.
