Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Instrumentation and Control Engineer to lead design, implementation, and optimization of control systems for complex industrial processes. This remote role enables you to influence plant performance from anywhere in South Africa.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s degree in Electrical or Chemical Engineering and 7+ years of experience with DCS, PLC, SCADA, and instrumentation technologies. Strong leadership and remote collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Electrical, Chemical, or related engineering field.
7+ years of instrumentation and control engineering experience in process industries.
Deep knowledge of sensors (flow, pressure, temperature, level) and instrumentation technologies.
Experience with DCS/PLC/SCADA from major vendors.

Responsibilities

Design and implement instrumentation and control systems for industrial processes.
Develop and optimize control strategies and logic for efficiency, safety, and quality.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Lead instrumentation and control projects from concept to commissioning and support.
Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental requirements.
Provide technical leadership to junior engineers and technicians.
