Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Remote Industrial Control Engineer to bolster its automation team. The role supports operations remotely for facilities near Polokwane, focusing on design, implementation, and support of advanced control systems to enhance efficiency, reliability, and safety across operations.

You will work with Siemens and Rockwell PLCs, SCADA/HMI, sensors and drives, collaborating with on-site and global teams to drive industrial innovation in a fully remote setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• 5+ years in industrial automation and control systems engineering.
• Experience with major PLC platforms (Siemens, Rockwell) and SCADA/HMI software.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for industrial processes.
• Develop and implement automation strategies to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Specify and integrate industrial sensors, actuators, and variable frequency drives.
• Conduct root cause analysis for control system failures and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with process engineers to identify and implement automation improvements.
• Ensure designs adhere to safety standards and industry best practices.
