Placements24 seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer focused on Automation and Control Systems to join a remote-first team supporting Stellenbosch and beyond. You will design, program, and implement PLC, SCADA, and HMI solutions to enhance efficiency, safety, and reliability across industrial processes.
The role emphasizes remote collaboration, virtual commissioning, and staying ahead of new technologies. A Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and at least five years of automation experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years in industrial automation with PLC programming experience.
- Proficiency in SCADA/HMI software and industrial protocols.
- Experience with VFDs and motion control systems.
- Strong remote-diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication for virtual collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Design, program, and implement automation and control systems using PLC, SCADA, and HMI.
- Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and network configurations.
- Remotely troubleshoot automation issues to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to define automation strategies and requirements.
- Conduct virtual commissioning and testing prior to deployment.
- Stay updated on emerging automation technologies and propose enhancements.
