Job summary

Placements24 in Centurion seeks a Senior Computational Biologist to join a pioneering research team. You will analyze large-scale genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics data, and design advanced computational methods to uncover novel biological insights.

You will collaborate with experimental biologists to plan studies, develop pipelines, and build predictive models and machine learning applications. The role offers generous remote work flexibility and access to high-performance computing

Qualifications

• PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in computational biology or bioinformatics research.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with relevant bioinformatics tools and databases.
• Strong experience with the analysis of genomic, transcriptomic, or proteomic data.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret large, complex biological datasets using advanced computational and statistical techniques.
• Develop and implement bioinformatics pipelines and algorithms for high-throughput data analysis.
• Collaborate with experimental biologists to design studies and interpret results.
• Identify novel biological pathways, biomarkers, and therapeutic targets based on data analysis.
• Contribute to the development of predictive models and machine learning applications for biological research.
• Present findings and technical details to both computational and experimental research teams in Centurion .
