Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Senior Civil Site Engineer to oversee on-site operations in Bloemfontein. You will supervise engineers and site personnel, manage daily activities, and ensure adherence to plans, specs, and schedules.

The ideal candidate has a strong civil engineering background, practical construction experience, and proven leadership abilities to drive projects in the Free State region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Pr Eng or Pr Eng Tech registration with ECSA is highly advantageous.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with site supervision experience.
• Proven experience managing complex civil projects (roads, buildings, water infra).
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and quality control.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience with construction planning software and project management tools.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to work extended hours.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all on-site civil engineering activities for construction projects.
• Ensure work is carried out per approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Develop and implement site execution plans, including work schedules and resource allocation.
• Manage and mentor site engineers, supervisors, and construction crews.
• Monitor progress, identify delays, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations on site.
• Conduct site inspections and quality control checks.
• Liaise with project managers, contractors, consultants, and clients on site matters.
• Review and approve method statements, work permits, and material submittals.
• Maintain accurate site records including daily reports and progress logs.
