Placements24 is seeking a proactive Senior Buyer to lead indirect procurement for a diversified industrial conglomerate. This fully remote role supports operations across Durban, KwaZulu-Natal from anywhere in South Africa.

The candidate will source IT, marketing, professional services, and facilities management, drive negotiations, manage supplier relationships, and improve procurement processes in a global team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement with focus on indirect spend.
• Proven negotiation and contract management experience.

About the Role

Our client, a diversified industrial conglomerate, is seeking a proactive and strategic Senior Buyer to lead indirect procurement operations. This role is fully Remote , offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in South Africa, with a focus on supporting operations impacting Durban, KwaZulu-Natal . You will be responsible for sourcing and procuring a wide range of indirect goods and services, including IT, marketing, professional services, and facilities management. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, a comprehensive understanding of market dynamics for indirect categories, and a proven ability to drive value and efficiency in procurement processes. You will play a key role in ensuring cost-effective acquisition of essential business resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for various indirect spend categories.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, with a significant focus on indirect spend.
• Proven track record of successful negotiation and contract management.
• Strong understanding of various indirect spend categories (e.g., IT hardware/software, professional services, MRO).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with procurement software and e-sourcing tools.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting.
• Familiarity with sustainability and ethical sourcing practices is a plus.
