About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Buyer specializing in Indirect Materials to join their dedicated procurement team in Durban . This role is essential for managing the acquisition of non-production goods and services, such as office supplies, IT equipment, and professional services, ensuring cost‑effectiveness and operational continuity. You will be responsible for identifying cost‑saving opportunities, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies. Key Responsibilities

• Procure indirect goods and services, including MRO, office supplies, and IT hardware/software.
• Source new suppliers and manage existing supplier relationships to ensure service level agreements are met.
• Conduct cost analysis and identify opportunities for savings through strategic sourcing and negotiation.
• Prepare and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure procurement solutions align with business objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in a buyer or procurement role, with a focus on indirect spend.
• Demonstrated ability in negotiation and supplier management.
• Strong understanding of procurement best practices and contract terms.
• Excellent organizational skills and proficiency in procurement systems and MS Office Suite.
