You will direct calculation development, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, manage schedules and budgets, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring compliance with AASHTO/SANS and client requirements.

Qualifications

• BEng in Civil Engineering with structural/bridge specialization.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is essential.
• Minimum 9 years’ experience in bridge design and construction.
• Proficient in bridge analysis and design software (MIDAS Civil, CSiBridge).
• Experience with load rating, seismic and fatigue analysis.
• Strong project management and client relationship skills.
• Willingness to conduct site visits near Klerksdorp.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design and analysis of bridges (concrete, steel, composite).
• Prepare detailed design calculations, drawings and specifications per codes (AASHTO, SANS).
• Conduct inspections and recommend rehabilitation or strengthening.
• Oversee construction phase ensuring design adherence and quality.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including planners and contractors.
• Perform advanced analysis using MIDAS Civil or CSiBridge.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies and tender documents.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.
• Ensure designs and construction comply with safety and environmental regulations.
