Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Bridge Design Engineer in Vereeniging, Gauteng. You will lead structural design across concrete, steel, and composite bridges, and perform advanced analyses to ensure safety, durability, and aesthetics of transportation links.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, at least 7 years of bridge design experience, and Pr. Eng registration with ECSA. Proficiency in CSI Bridge, LUSAS, MIDAS Civil, AutoCAD, and Revit is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 7+ years of bridge design experience.
• Pr. Eng registration with ECSA is essential.
• Proficiency in bridge design and analysis software (CSI Bridge, LUSAS, MIDAS Civil, AutoCAD, Revit).
• Strong knowledge of concrete and steel design principles for bridges.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design of concrete, steel, and composite bridges.
• Perform complex structural analysis using state-of-the-art software.
• Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Conduct design checks and reviews to ensure compliance with AASHTO and SANS.
• Collaborate with road designers, geotechnical engineers, and environmental consultants.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and drafting personnel.
• Undertake site inspections and assessments of existing bridges.
• Participate in proposals and tender submissions.
