Job summary

Placements24 in Kimberley seeks an experienced Senior Civil Engineer specializing in bridge design to lead structural design and analysis from concept to construction support. You will drive safety, durability, and efficiency of bridge structures across major infrastructure projects in the Northern Cape and beyond.

The role requires leadership, 10+ years of bridge experience, and proficiency with MIDAS Civil or CSiBridge, with ECSA registration highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural/bridge design.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in bridge design and analysis.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in MIDAS Civil or CSiBridge.
• Strong knowledge of materials science and construction methods for bridges.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and analysis of beam, arch, and suspension bridges.
• Perform detailed load, stress, and integrity calculations.
• Develop design reports, drawings, and bridge construction specs.
• Ensure compliance with national and international bridge codes (AASHTO, SANS).
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and construction teams.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
