Placements24 invites a Senior Structural Engineer with a focus on bridge design to join our Sandton team. You will lead design, analysis, and detailing for complex bridge projects, mentoring juniors and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has 8–10 years in structural engineering, 5+ years in bridge design, and registration with ECSA. Expect a role that combines technical leadership with client liaison and project management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Master's preferred in Structural or Bridge Engineering.
• Pr.Eng registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• 8–10 years in structural engineering; at least 5 years in bridge design and analysis.
• Proficiency in MIDAS Civil, SAP2000, ETABS, CSIBridge.
• Strong knowledge of SANS and international design codes.
• Leadership and mentoring experience; client liaison.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, analysis, and detailing of bridge structures per codes and standards.
• Perform advanced structural analysis using MIDAS Civil, SAP2000, ETABS, or similar.
• Develop detailed design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Conduct site investigations and provide technical support during construction.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster technical excellence.
• Collaborate with geotechnical, transportation, and architectural teams.
• Prepare technical reports, proposals, and client presentations.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
• Stay updated on bridge engineering trends and best practices.
