Placements24 is seeking a Senior Instructional Designer to lead the design of innovative blended learning programs in a hybrid Durban-based role. You will drive end-to-end development, collaborating with faculty, SMEs, and multimedia teams to create engaging online and face-to-face experiences.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in instructional design, strong LMS and authoring tool skills, and a portfolio of blended learning projects.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Curriculum Development, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in instructional design with emphasis on blended learning environments.
• Experience designing online and face-to-face learning materials.
• Proficient with LMS (Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard).
• Experience with e-learning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and multimedia software.
• Strong grounding in adult learning theories and curriculum development.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
• Ability to thrive in a hybrid Durban-based role and manage multiple design projects.
• A portfolio of blended learning design projects is highly recommended.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop blended learning courses with online and in-person elements.
• Collaborate with faculty and SMEs to define objectives, content, and assessment.
• Create multimedia learning materials including videos and interactive modules.
• Utilize authoring tools and learning technologies to build engaging experiences.
• Develop robust assessment strategies for blended environments.
• Guide faculty on best practices for blended delivery.
• Evaluate program effectiveness and suggest data-driven improvements.
• Ensure accessibility and universal design for learning.
• Manage multiple projects from conception to implementation.
