Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Bioprocess Engineer for our client in Vereeniging to optimize and scale biopharmaceutical manufacturing. You will design and manage bioprocess workflows, scale up with large reactors, and ensure robust production of biologics in a regulated setting.

The role requires a MSc/PhD in biochemical/chemical engineering and at least 7 years in biopharma process development, with GMP, DoE, and data-driven process improvements.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Biochemical Eng, Chemical Eng, Biotechnology, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in biopharmaceutical process development and manufacturing.
• Strong GMP knowledge and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, optimize, and scale up bioprocesses for biologics.
• Operate large-scale bioreactors, cell culture systems, and downstream purification equipment.
• Conduct process validation, troubleshoot deviations, and implement CAPAs.
• Analyze process data to identify opportunities for improvement in yield, efficiency, and product quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, QA, and regulatory affairs.
