Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior BIM Manager to lead the firm’s Building Information Modeling initiatives from its Sandton, Gauteng office. The role demands hands-on leadership, development of BIM standards, and coordination across architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines to drive digital construction delivery.

You will guide project teams, enforce BIM protocols, and push adoption of advanced BIM technologies while staying aligned with international standards such as ISO

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 10+ years in AEC, with at least 5 years focused on BIM management and implementation.
• Proficiency with BIM software: Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain BIM standards, protocols, and workflows.
• Lead BIM execution plans for complex architectural and engineering projects.
• Provide technical leadership and support to project teams on all aspects of BIM.
• Oversee the creation, management, and quality control of BIM models.
• Facilitate clash detection, coordination meetings, and resolution processes.
• Train and mentor BIM coordinators, technicians, and other project staff.
• Stay current with BIM tech, software, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with IT to optimize BIM software/hardware infrastructure.
• Contribute to business development by showcasing BIM capabilities.
• Ensure effective digital collaboration and data management across Sandton projects.
