Job summary

Placements24, a leading architectural firm with a strong presence in Klerksdorp, North West, seeks an experienced Lead BIM Specialist to drive BIM initiatives across projects. You will establish standards, workflows, and best practices to improve design collaboration, efficiency, and delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of BIM implementation and management experience in the AEC industry.
• Expert proficiency in BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, and related plugins/tools.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Experience with clash detection and resolution using BIM.
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain company-wide BIM standards, protocols, and best practices.
• Lead the BIM implementation strategy, including software selection, training, and support.
• Manage and coordinate BIM models for architectural projects, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Facilitate collaboration between architectural, engineering, and construction teams using BIM platforms.
• Conduct BIM training and provide technical support to project teams.
• Develop and manage content libraries, templates, and families for BIM software.
• Perform quality control checks on BIM models to ensure adherence to standards.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in BIM technology and propose innovative solutions.
• Contribute to the pre-contract phase by assisting in BIM execution plan development and capability assessments.
• Liaise with external consultants and clients regarding BIM requirements and deliverables.
