Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior BIM Manager to lead the firm’s Building Information Modeling initiatives from its Sandton, Gauteng office. The role demands hands-on leadership, development of BIM standards, and coordination across architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines to drive digital construction delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 10+ years in AEC, with at least 5 years focused on BIM management and implementation.
• Proficiency with BIM software: Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain BIM standards, protocols, and workflows.
• Lead BIM execution plans for complex architectural and engineering projects.
• Provide technical leadership and support to project teams on all aspects of BIM.
• Oversee the creation, management, and quality control of BIM models.
• Facilitate clash detection, coordination meetings, and resolution processes.
• Train and mentor BIM coordinators, technicians, and other project staff.

About the Role

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge and practical experience with BIM software (e.g., Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360).
• Proven ability to develop and enforce BIM standards and workflows.
• Strong understanding of architectural, structural, and MEP design and construction processes.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience in developing and delivering BIM training programs.
• Knowledge of relevant international BIM standards (e.g., ISO 19650) is highly desirable.
