Placements24 in Randburg is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in automotive components to lead design, development, and validation of advanced parts throughout the product lifecycle. This on-site role focuses on delivering durable, safe, and high-performance solutions for next-generation vehicles.

You will harness CAD/CAE tools such as CATIA, SolidWorks, and ANSYS, perform FEA/CFD analyses, and drive design reviews with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 7+ years of experience in mechanical design with a focus on automotive components.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAE tools (CATIA, SolidWorks, ANSYS) and knowledge of DFM/DFA.
• Familiarity with IATF 16949 and APQP processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex mechanical components for automotive applications while meeting specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Perform rigorous FEA and CFD analyses to validate designs, optimize performance, and ensure durability.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, QA, and testing teams to enable mass production.
• Create 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs, and test reports using CAD software.
• Lead design reviews and mentor junior engineers, assisting with problem solving in design and manufacturing.
• Stay updated on automotive trends, materials, and manufacturing technologies to drive innovation.
