Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Sandton, Gauteng to lead automotive component design from concept to production. You will drive CAD design, CAE analysis, and integration with manufacturing to ensure robust, manufacturable solutions.

The role requires 7+ years in automotive design, strong CATIA/SolidWorks/NX skills, and a solid understanding of ISO/SAE standards. Excellent collaboration and mentoring abilities are essential.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Masters preferred).
• Minimum 7 years of automotive mechanical design experience.
• Experience with DFSS is advantageous.

Responsabilidades

• Design and develop automotive mechanical components and sub-systems using CAD.
• Perform stress, thermal, vibration, and fatigue analyses with CAE tools.
• Create manufacturing drawings, specifications, and BOMs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to optimize for mass production.
• Test and validate designs to ISO/SAE standards.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues during development and production.
• Stay updated on automotive technologies, materials, and processes.
• Mentor junior design engineers.
• Manage design projects from concept to production.
