Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Automotive Mechanical Engineer to lead design, development and testing of advanced vehicle systems in Johannesburg, Gauteng. You will drive innovation, supervise projects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and performance.

The role requires a strong background in thermodynamics, materials science, and FEA, with hands-on CAD and testing experience. A strategic thinker who can manage multiple initiatives is essential.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7+ years of progressive automotive mechanical engineering experience.
• Proficiency with CAD and FEA tools.
• Experience with automotive subsystems (powertrain, chassis, suspension, braking).
• Eligibility to work in South Africa.

Responsabilidades

• Lead design and development of new automotive mechanical systems and components from concept to production.
• Conduct testing and validation of prototypes; analyze results and modify designs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to integrate designs into production.
• Develop and maintain CAD models, drawings, specifications.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues during product development and in existing product lines.
• Mentor junior engineers and guide the team.
• Perform feasibility studies and cost analyses.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage project timelines and budgets; report progress to senior management.
