Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Analytical Scientist for their Upington-based Quality Control and Assurance team. You will drive analytical method development, validation, and routine testing to ensure pharmaceutical product quality and safety.

You will lead projects using HPLC, GC, MS, and related techniques, while ensuring regulatory compliance and robust data interpretation. Strong mentorship and problem-solving abilities are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in analytical sciences with GMP/ICH exposure.
• Minimum 5 years in analytical development and QC in pharma.
• Experience with HPLC/GC/MS and data interpretation required.
• Proficient in Empower or ChemStation data systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, validation, and transfer of analytical methods for APIs and finished products.
• Perform routine and non-routine analytical testing per SOPs and guidelines.
• Troubleshoot method development/validation issues and optimize performance.
• Conduct stability studies and determine shelf-life; analyze data and report findings.
• Ensure GMP/GLP compliance and participate in internal/external audits.
• Maintain calibration and qualification of lab instrumentation; mentor junior staff.
