Placements24 is seeking a Senior Analytical Chemist to join our Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal team. You will develop, validate, and apply advanced analytical methods, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting of results in a collaborative R&D environment.

The role requires hands-on experience with multiple instruments (HPLC/UPLC, GC-MS, ICP-OES/MS, NMR, FTIR) and a strong foundation in method validation and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or closely related field.
• 5–7 years hands‑on experience in an analytical chemistry lab, preferably in R&D or QC.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and validate new analytical methods for diverse chemical compounds.
• Perform routine and complex sample analyses with accuracy and timely reporting.
• Troubleshoot and maintain analytical instrumentation and perform calibration/maintenance.
