Job summary

Placements24 in Sandton is seeking a meticulous and experienced Senior Analytical Chemist to join the Quality Control and R&D laboratories. You will develop and validate analytical methods, operate advanced instruments, and interpret complex data in a hybrid work setting.

The role requires an MSc or PhD in Analytical Chemistry (or related field) and a minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience, including HPLC, GC-MS/LC-MS, UV-Vis, and FTIR.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Analytical Chemistry or related field.
• Minimum 6 years hands-on analytical chemistry experience.
• Experience with HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS, UV-Vis, FTIR.
• Strong knowledge of method validation and ICH guidelines.
• Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Proficient in data analysis software and LIMS.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and implement analytical methods for materials and products using HPLC, GC, MS and spectroscopy.
• Perform routine and non-routine analytical testing on various samples.
• Operate and maintain analytical instrumentation with calibration and performance checks.
• Interpret complex data, troubleshoot methods, and propose corrective actions.
• Prepare detailed reports and contribute to regulatory submissions.
• Mentor junior analytical chemists and help improve lab processes.
