Job summary
Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Analytical Chemist to join their quality control and research division in Stellenbosch. The role focuses on developing, validating, and implementing analytical methods to ensure product quality, with work across R&D and QC in a hybrid laboratory setting.
The candidate will lead method development, data interpretation, and instrument troubleshooting while mentoring junior staff and contributing to regulatory compliance and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- MSc or PhD in Analytical Chemistry or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in analytical chemistry.
- Hands-on with chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques.
- Experience with method development and regulatory validation.
- Strong data analysis and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and validate analytical methods for materials and products.
- Perform routine and non-routine chemical analyses using HPLC, GC, MS, ICP-OES, UV-Vis.
- Interpret data, troubleshoot instruments, ensure data integrity.
- Write and review validation reports, SOPs, and technical documents.
- Collaborate with R&D for product development and process improvements.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior chemists.
