Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Actuarial Analyst for a fully remote position serving clients across South Africa. You will develop pricing, reserving, and financial models, analyze large datasets, and collaborate with underwriting, finance and product teams to drive strategic decisions.

The role requires 5+ years of actuarial experience in insurance, strong SQL-like skills in SAS/R/Python, and excellent communication. Remote work offers flexible hours and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related quantitative field.
• Progress toward or completion of actuarial exams (FSA/ASA or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant actuarial experience in the insurance industry.
• Proficiency in actuarial software (SAS, R, Python) and advanced spreadsheet skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain actuarial models for pricing, reserving, and financial projections.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, assess risks, and inform business strategy.
• Perform experience studies and profitability analyses to support product development and pricing decisions.
• Collaborate with underwriting, finance, and product management to provide actuarial expertise.
• Prepare clear actuarial reports and presentations for senior management and regulators.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and professional standards.
• Mentor and guide junior actuaries and analysts in a remote setting.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of actuarial methodologies and tools.
• Conduct sensitivity analyses and scenario testing for market conditions.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends in actuarial science and insurance.
