Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Actuarial Analyst for a fully remote position within South Africa. You will perform complex actuarial calculations, develop pricing models, assess reserves and deliver insights into financial risks, while supporting strategic goals in a distributed work setup.

You will need at least 5 years of actuarial experience, Fellowship or equivalent exams, and strong skills in Prophet, Moody’s, R, Python, and SQL.

Qualifications

• Actuarial exams up to Fellowship or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ actuarial experience in insurance.
• Strong mathematical and analytical capability.
• Proficiency in Prophet, Moody’s, R, Python, and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex actuarial analyses, pricing, reserving and financial modelling.
• Develop, implement, validate actuarial models and methodologies.
• Assess financial risks and liabilities related to insurance contracts.
• Prepare regulatory financial statements and solvency reports.
• Provide insights to support business strategy and product development.
• Collaborate with underwriting, claims and finance to ensure data accuracy.
• Mentor junior actuarial staff and manage multiple projects remotely.
• Stay updated on SA actuarial regulations and IFRS 17.
