Placements24 is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst for a fully remote role across South Africa. You will lead development of pricing models, reserve assessments, and risk analyses, translating complex data into actionable insights for senior management.

The position requires 5-7 years in insurance/financial services, progress toward actuarial exams, strong proficiency in R/Python and Excel, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or related quantitative field.
• Progress towards or completion of actuarial examinations (e.g., ASISA, SOA, CAS).
• 5-7 years of experience in insurance or financial services.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain actuarial models for pricing, reserving, and risk assessment.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and potential risks.
• Conduct profitability studies and financial projections to support strategic planning.
• Collaborate with underwriting, product development, and finance to provide insights.
• Prepare reports and presentations on actuarial findings for senior management.
• Stay updated on actuarial standards, regulatory changes, and best practices.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to professional development.
• Assist in developing new insurance products from an actuarial perspective.
• Perform ad-hoc analyses and projects as requested by management.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of all actuarial calculations and data.
