Job summary

Salt in Cape Town is seeking an experienced SEO Specialist to drive organic growth across strategy, technical SEO, content optimisation, analytics and AI-powered search, in a fast-paced, competitive digital environment.

This hybrid role is based at Granger Bay, Cape Town, with 4 days in the office and 1 day WFH, offering a salary up to R58 000 plus benefits and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience in a dedicated SEO role.
• Proven track record of improving organic rankings and traffic.
• Strong technical SEO knowledge.
• Experience with Google Search Console & GA4.
• Experience with SEMrush, Ahrefs or Moz.
• Understanding of structured data/schema markup.
• Knowledge or interest in AEO, GEO and AI search optimisation.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to translate SEO insights into commercial recommendations.
• Experience in the South African betting/sports environment would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Optimise content based on search intent and commercial objectives
• Conduct technical SEO audits and improve crawlability, indexation, site architecture and Core Web Vitals
• Work with development teams to resolve technical SEO issues
• Develop link-building and authority-building strategies
• Monitor rankings, traffic and conversions and turn data into actionable insights
• Explore opportunities across AI search, AEO and GEO
• Apply E-E-A-T principles to strengthen content credibility
• Stay ahead of Google updates and changes in the search landscape
