About the Role

Our client, a leading organisation in the FMCG sector, is seeking a driven and enthusiastic Sales Representative to cover the Randburg, Gauteng territory. This is a field-based sales role focused on building and maintaining strong relationships with existing customers, identifying new business opportunities, and driving sales of our client's extensive product range within the assigned region. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with a passion for sales, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of the retail and wholesale landscape in the Gauteng North area. You will play a key role in achieving sales targets and contributing to the continued growth of our client's market presence. This position requires regular travel within the specified territory.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve or exceed sales targets within the assigned territory.
• Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with customers, including retailers and distributors.
• Regularly visit customer premises to present product offerings, promotions, and new initiatives.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the customer base.
• Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activities, providing feedback to the sales management team.
• Manage customer accounts, including order processing, inventory checks, and payment follow-ups.
• Merchandise products effectively in store to maximise visibility and sales.
• Prepare and submit regular sales reports and forecasts.

Requirements

• Matriculation certificate is essential; a tertiary qualification in Sales or Marketing is advantageous.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of sales experience, preferably within the FMCG industry or a related field.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Strong understanding of the FMCG market and retail landscape in Gauteng .
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• A valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle are essential for frequent travel within the Randburg and surrounding areas.
• Proficiency in using sales software and MS Office Suite.
