My client is seeking a driven, competitive, and customer-centric Sales Representative to join our team. As the face of our company, you will manage the full sales cycle—from cold calling and market surveying to quoting, closing, and providing exceptional after-sales support.
This role is ideal for somebody who has a high level of self-responsibility. We are looking for a person who genuinely cares about their customer and who wants to keep their customers happy and satisfied. The person should build long-term customer relationships, search for laboratory supply opportunities and ensure that the organisation is the first name customers think of when they need laboratory ware and chemicals.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Promote and sell the full range of laboratory products and offerings.
- Conduct cold calls and survey the market to identify and secure prospective customers.
- Meet or exceed sales targets set periodically by the company management.
- Attend occasional trade shows to generate leads and elevate brand visibility.
- Maintain a highly competitive edge to win market share regardless of competitor activity.
Client Relationship & Account Management
- Visit and contact customers regularly to identify their needs, providing comprehensive pre- and post-sales support.
- Resolve client queries and complaints efficiently to maintain high satisfaction levels.
- Collaborate with the accounts department to follow up on and resolve unpaid or overdue client invoices.
Commercial & Operational Execution
- Generate sales quotations and efficiently convert them into finalized customer orders.
- Provide transparent feedback to customers regarding stock availability, estimated times of arrival (ETAs), and shipping issues.
- Deliver customer orders directly when operational needs require.
- Monitor competitor products and pricing, actively communicating insights to superiors.
- Identify new product supply opportunities based on evolving customer and market requirements.
- Proven experience as a Sales Representative, ideally within the scientific, laboratory supply, medical, or chemical industries.
- Strong technical aptitude to quickly learn, understand, and explain the products.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a natural ability to build trust and be the "go-to" person for customers.
- Resilient but not forceful negotiation and closing skills with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle, willingness to travel frequently for customer visits and order deliveries.
- Adaptable team player comfortable working in a small company environment where cross-departmental assistance is occasionally required.
