Responsibilities

• Handle walk-in, phone, and online enquiries to identify equipment hire needs.
• Process hire contracts and documentation on the store system.
• Meet or exceed monthly revenue and new customer targets.
• Make outbound calls and visits to generate new business and leads.
• Build and maintain relationships with contractors and customers.
• Cross-sell additional equipment and services.
• Resolve customer queries promptly, escalating when needed.
• Keep knowledge of the equipment fleet up to date.
• Submit reports for the sales function.
• Support store presentation and housekeeping.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12 (essential).
• A sales, marketing, or business-related qualification is advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years' sales experience, preferably within equipment hire, mining, construction, or a related industry.
• Valid Code B or EB driver's license (essential).
• OWN VEHICLE ESSENTIAL
• Knowledge and understanding of construction, earthmoving, and small equipment advantageous.
• Computer literacy essential.
• Strong command of English, both written and spoken; additional local languages advantageous

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Attend to walk-in, telephonic, and online customer enquiries, accurately identifying equipment hire needs.
• Process hire contracts and customer documentation accurately on the store's point of hire system.
• Achieve and exceed monthly revenue, and new customer acquisition targets.
• Conduct outbound sales calls and site visits to generate new business and grow the customer base.Generate and convert leads to business.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, builders, and customers.
• Cross-sell and upsell additional equipment, consumables, and value-added services.
• Resolve customer queries and complaints promptly, escalating where necessary to the Store Manager.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the equipment fleet.
• Submit reports as required for the sales function.
• Support store presentation, merchandising, and housekeeping standards.
• Adhere to company policies on credit terms, deposits, safety, and compliance at all times.
