Build your SHEQ career in a hands‑on role combining 70% safety and compliance with 30% training responsibilities.
Provide support to the Group Head of SHEQ and gain broad operational exposure across inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, audits and workplace training.
Minimum Requirements
- 1 or more years’ practical experience within a Safety, SHEQ or SHERQ role
- Practical understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
- Experience with safety administration, compliance records and reporting
- Valid driver’s licence and own transport as occasional travel will be required
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Ability to work independently
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Safety qualification such as SAMTRAC, SHEMTRAC, NOSA or equivalent preferred but not essential
- Previous logistics, transport, warehousing or similar operational experience advantageous
- Workplace training experience advantageous
- First Aid and Fire Fighting certification advantageousAt least 1 year’s exposure to ISO 14001, SQS or similar quality/environmental standards advantageous
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct workplace, yard, warehouse and operational safety inspections
- Monitor compliance with SHEQ/SHERQ policies, procedures and safe working practices
- Assist with risk assessments, corrective actions and incident, accident and near‑miss investigations
- Maintain safety records, registers, checklists and compliance documentation
- Support toolbox talks, safety briefings and awareness initiatives
- Monitor PPE compliance and safety relating to loading, offloading, warehousing and vehicle movement areas
- Assist with emergency preparedness and safety drills
- Support internal and external SHEQ audits and corrective actions
- Assist with environmental and quality compliance requirements
- Maintain employee training records and training matrices
- Coordinate safety, operational and customer site‑specific SHEQ training
- Conduct internal safety training where appropriately qualified
- Assist with employee inductions and refresher training
- Coordinate First Aid, Fire Fighting and other safety‑related training
- Provide administrative support to the SHERQ department
